However, Yato faces a setback when his weapon partner, known as a ‘Shinki,’ decides to leave him due to his status as a homeless god. Undeterred, Yato continues to take on various tasks in the hopes of finding a new partner.

It is during one of these missions that he encounters Hiyori Iki, a courageous girl who saves him from an oncoming vehicle but ends up separating her soul from her body in the process. Feeling responsible for Hiyori’s predicament, Yato promises to help her return to normal, albeit for a fee of five yen.

To fulfill his promise, Yato requires a new Shinki, and he eventually discovers one in the form of the rebellious spirit Yukine. Together, they navigate a world where humans and deities coexist, with Hiyori walking the line between both realms. Noragami delves into their intertwined fates and Yato’s quest for a place he can truly call his own.
