The Mecha-Ude manga, created by Yoshino Koyoka, is an exciting addition to Azuki’s collection. This sci-fi action manga takes place in Kitakagami City, where ordinary residents possess powerful and sentient mechanical beings called Mecha-Ude attached to their limbs. The story follows Hikaru, a middle school student who accidentally activates Alma, a mysterious Mecha-Ude with no memory of its past. As they form an unexpected connection, they find themselves pursued by shadowy secret organizations and deadly assassins with their own Mecha-Ude. Together, they must uncover Alma’s identity and prevent it from falling into the wrong hands.

Created by animator Okamoto and TriF Studio, Mecha-Ude: Mechanical Arms started as an independent pilot film in 2019. Pony Canyon later announced the production of a new anime series directed by Okamoto and produced by TriF in September 2022. Alongside the anime series, Koyoka’s manga adaptation was also launched in Japan, and now it will be available in English to fans worldwide through Azuki.
