The new series of Magic Kaito will debut in the magazine’s 20th issue on April 10, introducing fans to a captivating new chapter in the story. Additionally, the announcement teased the arrival of a fresh character in the manga, promising even more intrigue and excitement for readers.

Magic Kaito, which follows the journey of a young magician named Kaito Kuroba who transforms into the legendary thief Kaitō Kid, has been published irregularly since 1988. Aoyama briefly returned to the series in 2014, releasing three chapters, with the last new chapter appearing in 2017. The fifth compiled volume of the manga was also published that year.

Kaitō Kid, the main character of Magic Kaito, often appears as a formidable rival in Detective Conan stories. Fans can look forward to seeing more of Kaitō Kid in the upcoming Detective Conan: Hyakuman Doru no Michishirube (Case Closed: The Million-dollar Pentagram) film, where he will take on a central role.

The original Magic Kaito manga was adapted into a series of television specials in 2011. A-1 Pictures also produced a television anime adaptation of the manga in 2014, which was streamed on Crunchyroll.

Earlier this year, the ninth issue of Weekly Shonen Sunday hinted at the revival of a manga that had not been serialized for seven years. This turned out to be the new series of Magic Kaito, much to the delight of fans.

Fans of Magic Kaito and Detective Conan can eagerly anticipate the return of the manga and the introduction of the new character. As the 30th anniversary celebration of Detective Conan continues, it is truly an exciting time for fans of the franchise.
