The highly anticipated premiere of Kingdom Season 5 has been postponed due to unforeseen circumstances. The official website for the anime adaptation of Yasuhisa Hara’s Kingdom manga recently announced that the first episode of the fifth series will now air on January 13. Originally scheduled to debut on January 6, the delay was caused by NHK’s news coverage of the New Year’s Day earthquake that struck the Noto Peninsula in Ishikawa Prefecture.

Together, they strive to rise to power and overcome the challenges posed by the Seven Warring States.

Kingdom first premiered as a television anime adaptation in 2012, followed by a second series in 2013. Both seasons were streamed by Funimation in North America and later released on DVD in 2016. The third season premiered in April 2020 but faced a hiatus after four episodes due to the COVID-19 pandemic. However, it resumed airing in April 2021, restarting from the first episode. Funimation streamed the anime simultaneously with its Japanese broadcast. The fourth season debuted on NHK General in April 2022, with Crunchyroll handling the streaming.
