The Second Season of JUJUTSU KAISEN Anime
Studio MAPPA is animating the second season of JUJUTSU KAISEN, with director Shota Goshozono at the helm. The initial part of the anime focused on the “Hidden Inventory/Premature Death” arc, transitioning to the “Shibuya Incident” arc on August 31. Fans can eagerly await the return of the main cast, reprising their beloved roles.
Shota Goshozono leads the main staff for JUJUTSU KAISEN Season 2 as the director, supported by assistant director Ryota Aikei. Hiroshi Seko takes charge of the series composition and screenplay, while Tadashi Hiramatsu handles the character design. Sayaka Koiso contributes to the sub character design, and Junichi Higashi serves as the art director. Yoshimasa Terui is responsible for the music.
Studio MAPPA has previously animated both the 24-episode first season and the movie for the JUJUTSU KAISEN franchise. The original manga, written and illustrated by Akutami Gege, has been licensed by VIZ Media in English. Crunchyroll streams both the anime and the movie for international audiences.
The Story of JUJUTSU KAISEN
For those unfamiliar with the series, JUJUTSU KAISEN follows the story of Yuji Itadori, a high school student with extraordinary physical strength. His life takes a dramatic turn when he consumes the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, a powerful curse, in order to save a classmate from a curse attack. As a result, he becomes intertwined with Sukuna and enrolls in Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights curses. The series explores Itadori’s journey as he navigates his new life and battles against curses.
