In a much-awaited update, Yoshihiro Togashi, the mangaka behind the popular series Hunter x Hunter, recently took to Twitter to share an exciting sneak peek of the upcoming chapter. This announcement comes after a seven-month hiatus, with Togashi’s last update being on March 9, 2023.

The tweet, posted on October 2, 2023, featured an image of the manuscript for the latest Hunter x Hunter chapter, accompanied by the caption “Start over.” This cryptic message has sparked a flurry of excitement among fans, instantly making “Togashi-sensei” a trending topic on Twitter.

Hunter x Hunter Manga on Hiatus
The Hunter x Hunter manga had previously gone on a break after the release of chapter 400 on December 18, 2022. In an issue of Weekly Shonen Jump, the editorial department explained that due to Togashi-sensei’s health and other factors, the series would no longer be serialized on a weekly basis. Instead, it would be delivered to readers in a different format in the future.
On March 9, 2023, Togashi announced the completion of the 401st chapter of the manga on his official Twitter account. This marked a significant milestone for fans who had eagerly awaited the continuation of the story. After a hiatus of nearly four years, the series made its comeback on October 24, 2022, much to the delight of its dedicated fanbase.
Hunter x Hunters: A Popular Manga and Anime Series
Written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi, has been serialized in Shueisha’s shōnen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump since March 1998. Despite its popularity, the manga has faced numerous extended hiatuses since 2006. As of November 2022, the series has been compiled into 37 tankobon volumes.
The manga was also adapted into an anime television series, consisting of 62 episodes, produced by Nippon Animation and directed by Kazuhiro Furuhashi. It aired on Fuji Television from October 1999 to March 2001. Additionally, three original video animations (OVAs) comprising 30 episodes were released in Japan from 2002 to 2004. A second anime series, produced by Madhouse, aired on Nippon Television from October 2011 to September 2014, totaling 148 episodes. Two animated theatrical films were also released in 2013.
